One Hundred Years On Stage is a new play that focuses on the development of Chinese Opera over the past one hundred years and is performed by actors (trained to perform in the Chinese Opera) of Guoguang Opera Company. The three settings of the three acts represent three important stages of Chinese Opera in the past one hundred years. The three generations of the Hua family parallel to the three stages; the final scene in which the actors on the stage are seen moving suitcases and props for future performances symbolises that artistic exploration will continue to the end of time.
