Adelaide Festival Centre is South Australia’s artistic heart – the first capital city multi-purpose arts complex built in Australia in 1973. It is the only arts centre in Australia presenting four international festivals: Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Adelaide International Guitar Festival, OzAsia Festival and Come Out Festival.

Known to be the most comprehensive cabaret festival in the world, Adelaide Cabaret Festival features various local and international artists in a series of fabulous performances. In 2014, the Festival will take place from 6-21 June.

The Adelaide International Guitar Festival showcases the very popular instrument and features a great variety of local and international musicians. Lasting for 4 days from 17-20 July in 2014, the Festival also includes different activities like workshops, master classes and artist talks.

OzAsia Festival is dedicated to strengthening collaborations between Australian and Asian artists. It comprises various fields such as theatre, dance, music and film. The Festival will run from 5-21 September in 2014 with a focus on Shandong, which is the sister state of South Australia.

The latest addition to the Festival Centre, Come Out Festival, is viewed as a great festival for young people. It will celebrate its 40th Anniversary in 2014 and the 2015 program will be launched by the Festival Centre in October 2014.

Meanwhile, the Festival Centre consists of six separate venues across two sites – including Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse and Artspace Gallery.

It is also home to flagship arts organisations such as the State Theatre Company of South Australia and Adelaide Symphony Orchestra among others.

The Festival Centre is also collaborating with the Hawke Fellowship to support young arts administrators from China to intern at the Adelaide Festival Centre over the next five years.

As a FAME fellow, you will get the chance to become involved in the above exciting and intensive festivals! So don’t hesitate to apply for FAME now!
