The Things You Need to Know Before and After Forming a Legal Entity - From the Company Secretarial Perspective

This workshop aims to introduce to participants about the various options for the formation of legal entity (from sole proprietorship to limited companies), registration of society and the statutory requirements to comply with. Procedures on company set-up of the different legal formation will be introduced, and practical knowledge on how to apply tax exemption and charity status would also be covered. Topics include the various forms of legal entity and its registration procedures, annual compliance requirements of different legal entities, application of tax exemption of a charity, etc.

This workshop is targeted to provide information and advice for arts administrators to assist them in handling daily financial matters with ease. Topics include basic financial records, documents and procedures relevant to SMEs, finding the common language with the auditors, how to change a financial year end date, etc. The workshop is especially suitable for staff of arts organizations that have some experience in dealing with its own financial functions and those who are required to check and control the organizations’ financial operations.
