Arts Management Seminar Series: The Truth about Managing a Theatre Company

As the performing scene in Hong Kong is flourishing in recent years, even the nine major performing arts organizations are facing many challenges at box office. As the leader of an arts organization, how do they face the attention of public and media, while taking the role of a flagship company? Moreover, the programme manager also plays a key role, from liaising a screenplay’s copyright, finding the right director and actors, to budget control for the production. How does the programme team plan a new season programme every year and still provide new elements? Co-presenting with Chung Ying Theatre Company, Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association will present the “Arts Management Seminar Series: The Truth about Managing a Theatre Company”. Participants will be given an insider-guide at Chung Ying Theatre Company’s historical building, including the storeroom of props and costumes.
