Mr CHAN Chu Hei, Founder, Hong Kong People’s Fringe Festival

Chan graduated from HKAPA in 1991 with a major in Performance, before receiving further training in theatre in the UK. He founded Theatre Horizon in 2006 and in 2012, he co-founded the Hong Kong People’s Fringe Association which started off the Hong Kong People’s Fringe Festival. His awards in acting include Best Actor in the 8th and the 11th of Hong Kong Drama Awards for his roles in True Love Never Run Smooth and The BorderTown for Actors’ Family. He starred in The Square, Winds of Change and French Kiss for Theatre Horizon, and Show Flat in the 40th Hong Kong Arts Festival. Chan has been awarded Best Director in Hong Kong Drama Awards for The Black and the Blue of a Man. He was also awarded Best Director in the 2nd and 4th of Hong Kong Theatre Libre for Theatre Horizon’s Roses and roses and Bord de la vie respectively. His recent directorial works include The Square, If on a Winter’s Night A Traveler, Blast and Red Chamber in the Concrete Forest.
