Ms Mandy YIU

Ms Mandy Yiu graduated from the School of Drama, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Ms Yiu joined the Chung Ying Theatre as fulltime actress. Since 1993, Ms Yiu has been the producer of the Actors’ Family and is responsible for creative and administrative work. Ms Yiu was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award (Tragedy/Drama) for “The Kids”, “The Wind & the city” and the Best Leading Actress Award (Comedy/Farce) twice for “Don’t Dress For Dinner” and “The Mosquito Hero” in the Hong Kong Drama Awards. In 1999, she received a scholarship from Hong Kong Arts Development Council to further her drama studies in the United Kingdom.

After returning to Hong Kong, She devotes herself in promoting the development of drama in Hong Kong. Through the partnership with Pang Chun-yum, Artistic Director of Actors’ Family, they produce original musicals with local cultural characteristics, including “1941 Girl”, “The Border Town” and “The Good Person of Szechwan” which won several awards.

In 2015, Ms Yiu established The Alliance of Theatre Professionals of Hong Kong with a group of theatre practitioners to make further development in the Drama scene. Ms Yiu was the former Chair of the Alliance.
