“Meet the Arts Leaders” Series – Helen Ng – 4 Decades of Artistic Reminiscenes organized by Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association was successfully held on 10 July at the Fringe Dairy, Fringe Club.
We are delighted to have renowned arts practitioners to share their challenges and anecdotes of working in different arts organizations. Ms Helen Ng, an experienced arts administrator, began her speech by sharing the changes of art scene in Hong Kong throughout the past thirty-nine years. She also brought out the importance of crisis management in arts administration with four case studies. Recently, Ms. Ng invited twenty-five predecessors in the art field to write their successful career and assembled their stories into her new book. Ms Clementine Chan, a freelance artist, shared her experience of transforming from an arts administrator to an artist as well as the benefits of having the experience of arts administration for an artist. The purpose of the above discussions is to help the audiences understand more about the nature and importance of arts administration.
