Artists create by putting their ideas into artistic expressions. These works can be totally new, or they can be derivative or inspired by previous works of arts. Nowadays, as art projects often transcend traditional art forms, integrating various arts elements, the creative artists may also require to using certain music, visuals, literary text in the creation and performance of their works.
Therefore, it is vital for artists and arts practitioners to have a better understanding to copyright and the related legal issues, knowing their rights to prevent the exploitation of their works by others, as well as how to comply with the legal requirementswhen accessing and using others works.
Targeted for arts practitioners, this workshop will focus on introducing the issues on copyright, as well as the spectrum of rights and licenses available. Common queries on copyright issues related to the arts and creative industries will be answered.
