In a general environment of limited public funding for the arts, how can arts and cultural organisations become more self-sufficient and develop their ability to create income? How does a community find, encourage and support entrepreneurial individuals and groups who can potentially make a considerable contribution to the economic and social development of a city? This seminar will go beyond the incubator or start-up approach, to look at ways to integrate entrepreneurship within the development of arts and cultural creative practices that provide an alternative to the traditional business or MBA approach.
This workshop is suitable for those who are interested in developing business around a creative practice as well as for policy makers who want to understand how to create the infrastructure needed to support an environment of creative entrepreneurship.
