Writing a Silent Overture – House Programme Contents and Function

04-02-2012 2:30 PM - 04-02-2012 5:30 PM

A successful performance is not just about the production and the promotion, but also about connecting the audiences to the art itself.  An informative and clearly presented house programme is like a silent overture written in words, enhancing the appreciation experience of the audiences before the performance starts.  It can provide insight and understanding of the work performed, inform the audiences on the various aspects of the production, and enhance their appreciation and enjoyment of the performance.

Targeted for performing arts administrators, the workshop will look into the functions of performance house programme, as well as the content and details should be included and common problems in the production process.  House programmes samples of different art forms will be used to enumerate the guidelines of writing for the medium.
