English Touring Theatre is the UK’s leading touring theatre company, touring high quality, large-scale drama across the UK and internationally. The company is about to celebrate its 21^st birthday, and has been run by current director Rachel Tackley since 2008, making English Touring Theatre the only touring company in the UK to be producer-led.

The company tours a wide variety of work, from classic drama to new writing and imaginative new interpretations. Widely acclaimed for the quality of its work English Touring Theatre has won numerous awards including the UK Theatre Award for Best Touring Production 2012, and Best Ensemble 2013 at the Adelaide Theatre Awards. The company frequently collaborates with leading producing theatres, and works with the country’s leading directors and creative talent.

Typically English Touring Theatre tours 3-4 productions per year, and last year performed to a total audience of 80,000 people
