2014 Overseas Partner: Malta Festival Poznań (Poland)

Since 1991, June has marked the time when the Malta Festival Poznań presents its international programme of theatre, music and dance events. Since 2010, the Idioms – which are crucial to understanding the contemporary world, have constituted the thematic core of the festival. Each Idiom program is prepared by a different curator. In 2014, the fifth edition of the Idiom will direct our attention towards Latin America. The curator, Rodrigo García, is one of the most original and brave artists in contemporary theatre.

Apart from the Idiom, the festival consists of projects by young artists in urban spaces, a dance and theatre program, films, discussions, and an especially extensive music and concert offer.

Generator Malta is a wider project written into the city's topography and aiming at creation of new places. It is also an educational project where everyone learns from everyone.

Melting pot, municipal character, combination of motifs and forms, cooperation with local communities, city as a theme for art, multidisciplinarity - these are the values continuously present at Malta, making up its philosophy.
