Introduction

Let’s Arty Hour!

With the support provided by the Arts Capacity Development Funding Scheme (ACDFS) of the Home Affairs Bureau, the Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association (HKAAA) initiates the Fellowships for Arts Management Experience (FAME) Programme. The second FAME programme was held in 2014-15, the 6 participants had the opportunity to work with renowned arts organizations in Australia, Poland, Taiwan and the United Kingdom respectively during their 10 to 12 weeks internship. Through observation and participation, the participants not only had a glimpse of the differences between Hong Kong and overseas arts groups, but also learnt about the programming and management practices of our foreign counterparts. Our FAME fellows have now successfully completed the internship programme. HKAAA have invited the 6 participants to join the quarterly Arty Hour@HKAAA to share their experience, hoping to broaden local arts administrators’ horizons and inspiring minds, with the ultimate goal of benefitting our local arts and cultural scene.

The topic of the second Arty Hour@HKAAA is “Overseas Arts Management Experience”. We have invited the 6 fellows who have internship attachment in English Touring Theatre, Nostalgia Festival Poznan, Krakow Festival Office, Adelaide Festival Centre, Sydney Theatre Company and Cloud Gate Dance Theatre respectively to share their experience of working with overseas arts organizations on daily operation, event coordination and execution in the coming Arty Hour@HKAAA.

Arty Hour@HKAAA is a causal occasion for thoughts to collide and wild ideas to flow. We would like to invite all fellow arts practitioners and anyone with an interest in arts & culture to join the gathering.

Come, share your views, and experience with us!

By providing professional training to these selected candidates, they will contribute their expertise to their employers as well as to the local arts field in the long run.
