Meng Jinghui is the most influential theater director in China today.

 

His spicy, humorous and critical drama style has brought sensations to the stage, giving a new look to Chinese drama and injecting energy to the diversity of Chinese theater. His unique creativity and versatile artistic style has become a cultural phenomenon that is worth attention.

 

His theater works include: To Live, Guns, Lies and Roses, Naughty Kids’ Carnival, Invisible Love, Hitler's Belly, Romeo & Juliet, Two Dogs, Metamorphosis of Butterfly, Soft, Three Oranges' Love, Amber, The Murder of Hanging Garden, Liebe ist kälter als der Tod, An Exotic Encounter, The Flower in the Mirror& the Moon on the Water, New Love Concept, Bedbug, Don Quixote de la Mancha, Rhinoceros in Love, Cien Años de Soledad, The Accidental Death of an Anarchist and Si Fan.

 

He is the author of two books, Pioneer Theater Archive and Cutting-Edge Theater Archive.

 

He is currently the Director of the National Theatre of China, Art Director of Beijing Fringe Festival and Beijing Beehive Theater.
