Mike Hill was born 1974 in Yorkshire, England. Mike has an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Computing from Nottingham Trent University and a Post Graduate Masters Degree in Computer Science from Liverpool University. Mike is a technologist with a passion for music and the arts.
Mike has worked in the I.T. industry for nearly 20 years, as a software engineer, as a business analyst and for much of the last decade as a technology leader. In 2007 Mike founded, and continues to run Kite Systems a rapidly growing regional technology company. Kite specializes in the development and maintenance of high security high volume transactional systems for the online payment/retail sectors and the creation of diverse web applications for an equally diverse range of clients. Mike is also the managing director of Kite Holdings which is a technology angel that invests in technology startups by providing technology, consultancy and engineers.
Kite owns and operates its own products, including the recently launched online ticketing platform Ticketflap.com.
Mike has been active in the Hong Kong music scene since arriving in 1999. Mike is one of the founders of the now legendary Robot. Robot organizes and performs at, a variety of contemporary electronic music events.
Mike is co-founder and one of the organizers and Directors of Clockenflap Music & Arts Festival. Clockenflap now enter it’s sixth year, and is the largest event of its kind in Hong Kong. In 2012 Clockenflap attracted 20,000 people, featured over 80 bands, with international headliners, a film tent showing shorts from all over the world, installation art contributed by over 20 artists and a wide variety of other attractions for adults and kids. Clockenflap is rapidly becoming one of the regional highlights in the music and arts calendar.
