Tai-lok Lui is Professor and Head of Sociology Department, University of Hong Kong. His recent publications include The Story of Hong Kong in the 1970s Re-told (in Chinese), Hong Kong: Becoming a Chinese Global City, and Hong Kong, China: Learning to Belong to a Nation. He is a columnist in Hong Kong’s and China’s magazines and newspapers. His research interests fall in the areas of urban sociology, class analysis, global city studies, and Hong Kong studies.
