Jiatong Wu grew up in Beijing and Shanghai. He studied German in Munich and electrical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology (Technische Universität Wien). It was in Vienna that Wu first got acquainted with classical music. His passion for music inspired him to establish Wu Promotion in 1991, together with his father. After obtaining his master degree Jiatong Wu returned to China to become the General Manager of Wu Promotion.
While in the beginning, Wu Promotion’s work focused on presenting classical music in China, the company now organizes for all genres of performing arts from around the world to mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau and other Asian countries.
Jiatong Wu is convinced that cultural exchange should not be a one-way road. Not only he wanted to bring Western culture to Asia, but also to show the people in Europe and all over the world the beauty of the performing arts traditions from China and other Asia countries. Jiatong Wu and his company have toured with almost every prominent Chinese cultural institution, and are touring more and more often with far Asian and Middle Eastern performing groups as well.
In the course of the years, Wu Promotion has grown to an internationally recognized company with offices in China, Europe and the Middle East. Jiatong Wu and his creative team organize several hundred large scale concerts and events each year in over 50 cities across the whole world.
