The cultural and creative industries is booming in mainland China recent years, following with the launch of well-equipped performance and exhibition venues as well as different kinds of arts festivals. There has been an increasing demand for art performances. While many art groups and artists would like to bring more great works into mainland China, they hesitate because of the lack of understanding on its market, system and network. To shed light on this topic, Hong Kong Arts Administrators Association invites experts on China market to share their experience and insights.
We are glad to have Ms Karen Cheung, Senior Manager (China Dance Development Programme), CCDC Dance Centre of City Contemporary Dance Company, to talk about her experience on making Beijing and Guangdong Dance Festival the major dance festivals in China. Ms Lotus Chan, Administration Manager, On and On Theatre Workshop and Independent Producer, will talk about how she brings local theatre to cities in mainland and introduce actors into new arts festivals to perform in some interesting venues. And, Ms Mandy Yiu, Executive Director of Actors' Family, to talk about her experience in the acting tours in Mainland China, such as Guangzhou, Foshan.
