This two-session workshop using case studies and discussion will look at strategic approaches to planning audience development through a number of different mechanisms. Social media - New media, the power of digital - Creating a ‘wow’ factor, and developing real engagement through education programmes. To use all of these tools we need to find ways of using and sharing existing data and potentially the creation of marketing consortia.

This workshop aims to introduce participants to the various options for the formation of a legal entity (from sole proprietorship to limited companies), registration of societies and the statutory requirements to comply with. Procedures on company setup in different legal formations will be introduced, and practical knowledge on how to apply for tax exemption and charity status will also be covered.

We are delighted that Mrs Maisie Shun Wah, Head of Public Affairs, John Swire & Sons (HK) Ltd will share with us the subject on partnership with the arts community, drawing references from the association between Swire and the Hong Kong Philharmonic. Topics covered would include, among other things, the criteria for success, the challenges and solutions. For practical use, participants are also encouraged to share their own experiences for mutual learning.

In this forthcoming talk cum workshop, the speaker will share with us the fundamental concepts of arts promotion/marketing as a means to communicate with audience and to entice them. There will also be a workshop provided where participants are invited to bring along past promotional materials from their own organizations for sharing and discussion, and to learn how they can be improved based on the feedback from both the expert and among peer marketers.
